The Learning Disabilities Association of New Brunswick is seeking to add three new Board Members to our current Board of Directors.
LDANB is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to assisting anyone who struggles with a learning disability, or has questions on the matter. The mission statement of LDANB is to promote the understanding and acceptance of the ability of persons with learning disabilities to lead meaningful and successful lives. We speak as the leading provincial authority on learning disabilities, and are always advocating for the rights of everyone to learn and achieve their fullest potential, despite any learning challenges.
In 2020 LDANB will be hosting several major events including a major fundraiser and our biennial Atlantic Symposium on Learning Disabilities. The upcoming year will also mark the 50th anniversary of the Association, the achievements of which will be celebrated with a gala event in October 2020. LDANB will be expanding the Barton Tutoring Program and will be offering a French Tutoring Program. The next few years are going to be some of growth for the LDANB, which will require the support of a strong Board of Directors.
As a Board Member, you would be responsible for:
- Providing your unique input and expertise to further the organization
- Aiding in any fundraising efforts or special projects
- Ensuring proper financial management
- Attending regular Board meetings (approximately 3)
- Attending the annual AGM
All interested persons are encouraged to apply; however, the Executive Board of Directors is hoping to strengthen certain areas of the Board.
Key qualities we are looking for are:
- Experience in fundraising
- Marketing and social media experience
- Knowledge of the child and youth development sector
Special consideration will be given to those with lived experience.
If you believe that you meet the criteria for our Board, and can offer valuable input and aid to our organization either as a board or a committee member, please submit your resume and cover letter, in confidence, to Jane Clohossey at admin@ldanb-taanb.ca.
Interested candidates are encouraged to apply by Monday, September 16th 2019.
