New at the Library! Connect to Accessible Reading!
Are you interested in accessing reading material in alternative formats?
Your local public library, through its partnership with the Centre for Equitable Library Access (CELA), can offer you a wealth of alternative format collections for all ages:
300,000+ accessible books in audio, braille or accessible e-book format
Award winners, bestsellers and classics
Fiction and non-fiction for adults, including academic materials
Free access to Bookshare
Free access to the DAISY Direct to Player app for iOS or Android devices
If you sign up for CELA service, you can also receive a Bookshare membership free-of-charge! Bookshare (www.bookshare.org) is the world’s largest online library of accessible materials for people with print disabilities.
Are you an Educator that works with students who have print disabilities?
New this October, you can sign up for CELA’s Educator Access Program and receive free access to thousands of accessible reading materials on behalf of your students. All you need is a public library card!
Eligible students can also sign up for their own CELA and Bookshare service through their local public library.
If you would like to have a presentation for your school, feel free to contact your local public library.
